Lillie Rubin was a label based out of Miami and was launched in 1946. They continued to produce clothing until 1990 when they were bought out by Cache and the Lille Rubin label was retired. They tended towards evening wear and more dressy pieces. This 1970s dress is a little unusual for them as it is more laid back then some of their pieces from this time period. I love its easy styling and tie dye print that runs over the silk in a mix of pinks and creams. The dress is cut to float over the body and without the belt on has an almost caftan cut to it. The silk chiffon that it is made from is very light in weight and adds to the airy feeling of the piece. The neck is cut quite wide across the shoulders for a little peek of collarbone. The sleeves are cut full and have a loose elastic at the ends of each of them that you can tie to adjust. Each sleeve is slit open down the sides. They fall just below the elbows. The waist is open and loose unless you cinch it with the matching fabric tie belt. The overall effect is very pretty and it is very easy to wear. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a second layer of the same silk chiffon through the bodice and skirt. The sleeves are left unlined. It slips over the head to wear with a button and loop at the top of each shoulder. The sleeves have elastic that ties to tighten. Matching fabric tie belt. The loose cut will accommodate almost any size
